Puy Saint Vincent
Situated in the heart of the national park of Pays Des écrins our ski region has a privileged location as surrounded by the Massif des écrins where Mother Nature created a special micro-climate that assures perfect snow conditions all season long. Our village carries the name of Brother Vincent Ferrier honouring his fight for spreading religion in the valley. Once a quiet corner with a few farmer habitants has now an extensive history with expeditors, ski races and great festivals behind us. Going through the old village you can still spot the remains of the very first skilift that was built more than 40 years ago.
Having just finished completely reconstructing our summit chairlift - La Pendine – the community already started building the base of a permanent multi-activity centre and we have long-term plans for intertwining our slopes with Vallouise the home-town of the famous, gold-winning Olympic hero, Luc Alphand. Our new and bigger snow park will be ready for the 2015 season and will be shaped after the first snowfall by brand new machines. As colourful autumn turns white in December, the village wakes up and is full-on until end of April and wild skiers and snowboarders can still enjoy snowsports after a short climb in May. We are within two hours’ drive from both Turin and Grenoble airports and operate shuttle buses as well and a network of motorways arrive close enough.
